So you want to quit smoking?
It's really all down to a matter of attitude.

Cigarettes
Quitting smoking can be easy or difficult depending upon your attitude towards it. The more positive you are, the easier it will be. Those who find it very difficult are either not very certain that they want to stop or have little confidence in their own abilities. You can become a non-smoker with comparative ease.

Smoking is both a physical and psychological addiction. The physical part is extremely small and can be overcome quite easily. But the psychological addiction can be more complicated.

Do you think that you will be giving up a friend, or a 'crutch'? Do you worry that coping with work or stress without a constant supply of nicotine will be impossible? Are you afraid that you will never enjoy yourself socially without your cigarettes? Do you feel deprived just thinking about giving up smoking?

Stop worrying – most people feel this way when they first decide to quit smoking. But you will find out that none of these are true, and you will discover this for yourself BEFORE you quit smoking!

The first step is wanting to quit. Everyone is aware of the dangers of smoking, the slow suicide pact between you and your brand of cigarettes. You are also aware of the expense, the waste of money.

The second step is believing you can do it. Many people are under the impression that they cannot stop even if they really wanted to – that they don’t have the willpower to go through the withdrawal symptoms, or that they will become irritable, bad tempered or gain weight. This is just not true – many people become non-smokers without any of these problems, so why should you be different?

So the most important step is deciding that you really want to. Then deciding how and when. Hypnotherapy can be very useful in helping you to become a non-smoker: Someone who never worries about having a cigarette. Someone who is never bothered by the smoke from others' cigarettes. Someone who enjoys life and is happy being a non smoker. Is that person you?
